Palmers Coconut Oil Strong Roots: Product Review

Hello Divas!

The time has come again for me to do a review of a product that I have actually used so I can let you know what I think of it.

Today I will be looking at Palmers Coconut Oil Strong Roots spray.   I normally LOVE the products from Palmers, starting with the solid cocoa butter body lotion.

I most recently used an olive oil spray for my hair but I have heard great things about coconut oil so I decided to give this a try. The first thing I noticed about this oil spray is that it has peppermint and eucalyptus oils added in as well as the coconut oil.

The makers claim that the two minty oils are to help refresh the scalp but I did not particularly care for the minty coconut scent when I sniffed it from the bottle.

The product claims to be an oil spray but I did not find it oily when I sprayed it on my hair and scalp. It actually came out of the bottle like a mint scented water instead of a mint scented oil. I guess that is a good thing because it is not oily...but it does leave me wondering how much coconut oil was actually in the mix.

The minty scent which was overpowering straight out of the bottle was actually not as strong once I sprayed it on my hair.

The product was not oily enough for me to feel like the comb was slipping through my hair as easily as when I used the other oil product. I sprayed it on dry hair like I did with my regular olive oil spray so that I could test how it worked.

I put my hair up in a wrap and sprayed some more product on and I found that the Coconut oil spray made the ends of the hair stay in place better than the olive oil spray.

I am not sure if this is a good thing as this new spray may just be a little more sticky but I will have to see if the hair feels soft when I take it down from the wrap and sleeping on it all night.

Get A Topknot Hairstyle

Hello Divas!!!

With spring in the air you can now look forward to having great hairstyles that keep your hair off your face and neck.

One of the simplest looks that is still elegant and classy is the Topknot.

Now you don't have to go looking like a treasure troll or a caveman but the look is still simple to achieve.

Step One: Height
If you have a little volume on the top of your head it will make this style look even better than just having a low or a flat crown. You can tease just a tiny bit to create volume at the top of the head if you like.

Step Two: Bun
We all know how to create a simple bun, so just gather your hair into a loose ponytail and swirl into a floppy bun. Keep it a bit loose so you do not look like a crazy ballerina! Be sure to tuck the ends in and secure with pins so that your hairstyle does not slide off into a mess at the end of the day.

Step Three: Band
The final step is to slip on a headband to finish off your look. Place it about 1.5 to 2 inches away from the hairline for the freshest look this season.

Yoga Is Good...And Bad For You

Hello Divas!!!

While on the topic of keeping yourself beautiful I ran across this article that says Yoga Can Wreck Your Body and I just wanted you all to be aware of it.

Yoga is great way to get in shape and improve your flexibility but many people tend to rush into difficult poses because of peer pressure. The article talks about some yoga instructors who tell their clients they 'should' be able to do a certain pose by now and they push and pull on the client's body to achieve the pose.

Actions like this can lead to serious injury so just be very careful when you are taking your classes. Go with your body...go slowly and if something feels like it is too advanced don't do it just because everyone else is doing it.

Be good to yourself and yoga can be one of the best things that you have ever done for your health and your beauty.

As important as it is for us to get praise from others......we must not forget to praise ourselves as well.

Remember that YOU can be your biggest cheerleader.

See the beauty in yourself and then others can begin to see it too.

Praise yourself and Love yourself and have a great day.
