Dark Armpit Update April 2015

Hello Divas!

I realize it has been a LONG time since I posted about my dark armpits but that was really because I had just given up on them ever looking nice again. I have tried so many different things but have not seen any results and some products made them worse!!!

Some products made me itch and burn, and some even caused rashes and bumps.

I was so frustrated that I really felt like nothing would ever work. I am currently trying out two products, one on the left armpit and one on the right, to see if I can tell any difference.

I am pleased to report that I think ONE of them is working. I know the pictures are not very clear but I really think the stuff is working in the right armpit.

Here is the left. As you can see the armpit skin is darker than the rest of my skin.

Here is the right. I know there is not much difference but I think in this image the dark patches are not as dark as the left side.

I have been using these two products for the same amount of time and following the same regimen. I use antiperspirant during the day after my morning shower, then use only the product on separate armpits after my nightly shower.

I am no longer waxing my armpits. Instead I use an epilator to remove the hair..it hurts a lot but it is worth it think because it removes more than shaving and it hurts me less than waxing.

I think the skin on the right side looks a little more even and less blotchy but I also think the dark patches are getting smaller as well as getting lighter.

If you look at the left side, the black mess is just one giant solid area but with the right side you can see the lighter lines where there are armpit creases.

I will keep up for another month, since it has only been about 3 weeks since I started these new products. I will then post more pictures for comparison. Wish me luck!

We normally talk about beautiful things here but every now and then I need to get down to the not so pretty parts...namely dark, ugly armpits.

I recently decided to try something new so this is going to be a new reference point for the future.

I have gotten some Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Tone Correcting Serum for the left armpit.I will continue to only use antiperspirants during the day as needed, like when I am going to work or need to leave the house for some other reason.

I will continue to wash off the antiperspirant as soon as I get home and will use these serums on the armpits on an individual basis so I can see which, if any is producing results.


I will be using Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Corrector for the right armpit.

Yes I know I need to wax again.......but I took those photos before beginning the new regimen as I guess they got worse from the failed lemon juice experiment and the failed exfoliation experiment.

I will update you in about a month to see if we can detect any POSITIVE changes in the appearance or if I have once again wasted money on the curse of the dark armpits.

I am now a few months into the waxing underarm hair in an effort to lighten my dark armpits. I have been waxing every time the hair grows and have not used a razor or depilatory cream since last year.

F*$#@% Up My Armpits

Those were just a few of my adventures in trying to get my armpits to look like the rest of my skin and not a nasty patch of black, rough troll skin.


Now here is a pic of my left armpit on March 1st.....need to wax again, hee hee.

I finally got a digital camera so I can take better pictures instead of using the ones from the phone. So here is the left armpit taken about one year ago. I know it is hard to compare the two since one is a clearer image but that is all I have right now.

I do notice that when I wax some skin flakes (I guess) come off and I can see little dark patches on the wax strip. I guess this is the exfoliating part they talk about that will help with lightening the skin.

What I CAN tell you is that Lemon juice does NOT work. It burned and did not have any lightening effect.

This is so disgusting and not very Diva like at all.

I am now using a lightening cream with 3% Hydroquinone called Nadinola. I really hope this works because it is my last resort.

As always I will keep you guys in the loop. Has anyone had success with anything they have used?

Revisiting My Dark Side (Under arm area)

So a few days ago I was wearing a vest and talking to my mother. I raised my hand to scratch my nose and she said "Wow! Your underarms are really black!"

Note that she did not say they are dark...she said they are black.

Then she raised her arms and looked at her arm pits. They were light.

Then she looked back at me and asked what happened. I have no idea. I have been waxing my armpits in order to remove the dark skin but so far I have yet to see any major difference.

My mother has not seen my armpits for years so I guess she was shocked to see them that color. I was just embarrassed by her yelling that out.

30 Days: Living In GayTown

I just watched a show called 30 Days and the episode was about a straight man who had to live for thirty days in Gaytown.

Yes it is called Gaytown because the majority of the population is gay. I must say I really liked the episode because while the straight guy was not converted, he did become more tolerant and actually left the show saying he had made a friend.

The show was interesting and if you have not seen it as yet I encourage you to sign up for Hulu.com and check it out.

I have always found the gay men to be ..well fabulous!

The ones who are flamboyant (think Jack from Will and Grace) are so entertaining and I always wanted to have a gay male best friend.

I think it would be awesome to just have someone like Jack to be around me and be a fabulous Diva with all the time.

He could help me pick out clothes and we would go shopping and get our armpits waxed together.

Update on How To Lighten Dark Underarms

I recently wrote about How To Lighten Dark Underarms because my own underarms are very dark.

See picture in post for clarification.

One way I was told you can lighten your dark underarms is to wax instead of shaving or using depilatory creams.
Here is the image of my left armpit twenty days after waxing. I waxed every three days for twenty days and applied the finishing oil at night.

During the day I would wear my regular antiperspirant but then when I got home I would shower, wax and apply the oil to go to bed.
This picture is what my left armpit looked like before I started waxing. I think I can see a difference in that the waxed pit looks lighter but this might just be wishful thinking.

I will continue waxing some more and see what really happens.
