Candle Review: Black Pepper Bergamot

Hello Divas!

Today I have a review of the Black Pepper Bergamot candle from Bath and Body Works.

First of all this candle comes in a marbled glass that is quite a different look from traditional BBW candles. The design does not seem to be a sticker on the container..but just flows seamlessly all around.

The notes on the candle are:
- Fresh bergamot
- Black peppercorn
- Lavender leaf

What I get from it is definitely a peppery scent but not one that is overpowering. It is slightly more masculine scent as in it will please a male's sense of scent. It is not a cologne type scent and not something that you simply invoke the image of a male. It is something that I think you could burn around a guy and not have him worry that it is too feminine.

I do not get a strong scent of lavender, so I guess it is blending with the bergamot in this candle.

The candle smells good when unlit and is fabulous when lit.

This is a great scent and you should try it out.

Bath and Body Works Haul Summer 2016

Hello Divas!
It sure has been a long time since I have posted and I hope you all did not  forget about me. As always it has been very hectic here with school so I have just been really busy.

I wanted to take a few minutes to bring you my Bath and Body Works haul for the Summer 2016 Semi Annual Sale.

I only got a few items because I do have a stash of things that I need to get through. My main reason for going to the sale was to get the Indigo Sky candle as I think it is either being retired (I hope not) or it was a seasonal scent and they are changing it out.

This is my favorite candle of all time from Bath and Body Works and I just love how it smells a little like a man's cologne, without being too manly or overpowering. As you can see I got four of those because they are no longer available online. There were only six in the store that went to and I wanted to get all six because I love them so much. I decided to get only four because I wanted to leave for other people and I also wanted to pick up some other things.

I also got the  Sundrenched Vineyard which really does smell like a full bodied, juicy wine.

I think this is a great summer burn for me because it just smells happy and bright. I do not follow the seasonal recommendations when burning my candles and I will just burn whatever makes me happy.

In fact, I frequently burn the 'Christmas' scents all year round because I love the smell of apples and cinnamon!

I picked up three shower gels and one foaming hand soap to add to my collection.
The first shower gel I got was the Be Joyful scent.

I had smelled this in the lotion since one of my coworkers had it on her desk in February. I fell in love but I waited until it went on sale to buy one. The soaps and lotions normally retail for $12.50 each but ranged from $3.13 to $3.75 during the sale.

The next shower gel I got was the Beautiful Day scent.

I originally smelled this in the lotion and did not like it. I later smelled the shower gel and fell in love. This is a fresh and light scent but still full of yummy goodness. I like very sweet and fruity scents in the shower as I feel they wake you up and get you ready for the day.

The final shower gel I got was the Country Apple scent which is one of their throwback scents.

I love apple scented items so this was a great buy for me and I cannot wait to use it. The throwback scents are from early on in the past and I think I remember getting this as a college freshman!

The hand soap that I got was the Sun Ripened Raspberry, which is another throwback scent to the earlier days.

I think this smells very juicy and is something that makes me enjoy washing my hands. The last time I got a hand soap it smelled like pineapples and it made handwashing seem like a fun event and not a chore to quickly get done. I wanted something that brought a similar feeling so this was a great fit for what I wanted.

Did you get anything in the semi annual sale? Let me know what your favorite scents and items are!!!

New Hair Oil

Hello Divas!

I am trying out a new hair oil right now and I hope it works out for me. It is the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Hair Oil with Peppermint Oil and Keratin.

I love the Palmer's brand because their original Cocoa Butter lotion works wonders for my skin. I usually use an olive oil hair oil but I think this one might be good as well. Peppermint oil is supposed to help with hair growth and a healthy scalp, while Keratin is supposed to strengthen your existing hair.

I just did a deep condition earlier and now my hair is almost fully air dried. I will apply this oil to my scalp and a little on the ends before using my heat protectant to flat iron.

I will let you know how it goes!

Forever Sexy perfume (product review)

Hello Divas!!

I just wanted to do a brief review of my newest favorite perfume! The perfume I am enjoying now is Forever Sexy by Victoria's Secret.

Here is the front of the bottle

Victoria's Secret Forever Sexy Eau De Parfum 1.7 Oz Spray New in Box

Now before you laugh you should know this is not a childish scent. I normally stay away from VS scents because they are the typical teenage or undergrad type scent. They usually tend to smell very cheap as well and have that very strong alcohol base which is overpowering.

Not THIS baby!!!

I did not initially like this scent when I first smelled it. In fact it took me two visits to the store to like it. Maybe the first time I had some other issues that prevented me from smelling the true scent of this fragrance.

Here is the back of the bottle

The notes in this fragrance are:
  • Belladonna orange
  • Solar gardenia
  • Golden amber

I can definitely smell the orange as the top note and it is the one that stays with me the longest as well. I don't really smell the middle note, which is the gardenia, so I guess that fades quickly for me. The base note of the golden amber stays with me and really mixes well with the belladonna orange.

There is no vanilla (which is my favorite scent) listed here so I think the warm vanilla-type of scent I get is from the amber.

This fragrance lasts about 3 hours on skin and can still be smelled strongly. After that it can still be smelled on the skin but you do need to get close to sniff it. I have worn it for about a 6 hour work day and people could still smell it on me when they huddled around my computer! It was faint on the skin when I shower at night and washes off cleanly, without leaving that odd musky scent that some perfumes leave when you shower.

I also wear it to bed because it is not a very strong, overpowering scent. It lasts nicely through the night and is still faint on the skin in the morning before I shower.

If you want to purchase this fragrance on Amazon, please use my link below..just click on the image and I will get a little referral if you do make a purchase!!!

Fragrance Collection: 2016 Preview

Hello Divas!

Welcome to my Fragrance Collection for 2016. This is merely a preview and I will go into depth on each fragrance in a later post.

Here are all the fragrances, some are in the boxes so you can see what the box looks like.

I know this is a small collection but I wanted to keep it wearable as well. I have seen many collections where the owner has way too many fragrances and does not even use them. I do not want this collection to be like that. I want to use the fragrances that I have on a daily basis, so that I am not just collecting things to have them.

Here are the fragrances all out of the boxes.

I will do an individual review of each scent so that you can get a better idea of what I like. So far I love every perfume or body mist that I have and  I would like to keep it that way.

You will also notice that I have smaller bottles of many scents. The reason for this is I think when you have many of them they tend to last a long time. Over time the scent goes bad, so I would rather have smaller bottles that I know I can use before the scent changes.

Dermal Collagen Korean Face Sheet Masks Product Review

Hello Divas!

I recently bought a new sheet mask set from the "Dermal Korea Collagen Full Face Facial Mask Sheet" brand. They are a sheet mask so it is a sheet of fabric that is soaked in the essence and it stays on your skin for about 15 minutes while it dries.

I used the Royal Jelly mask this time and I must say I am impressed with just the application. These masks have slits cut into the sides so that you can better adjust them to fit your face.

The nose section is folded up a little so that you can put the flap down over the edge of your nose...much like other sheet masks.

What stands out for me is that the eye area has a flap that you can fold UP to place under the eye to allow more product to get into that under eye area. I have not seen this on any other sheet mask I have used so this is a great feature.

You get 16 of these for $12 so that is a pretty good deal and they came really quickly, even for being an international shipment!

It felt moisturizing on the skin and it was cooling when I put it on.

I will definitely repurchase because I am so into sheet masks now and it works well.
