How To Be More Feminine

Hello Divas!!

A Diva in the best sense of the word is truly a feminine woman. In order to be a feminine diva there are a few steps you need to incorporate into your daily life.

They are very simple steps and they should be a part of your normal daily routine so that they do not seem like a chore.

Wear fragrance.
One of the best ways to be a true diva is to always smell nice. You don't have to always wear a heavy perfume...you can smell nice with a light body splash or a scented lotion.

Keep nails well groomed.
A true diva always has beautiful looking hands and this can be easily achieved by having a good manicure. You do not need to follow all the latest nail trends but you can easily take care of your manicure at home.

Keep yourself clean.
A true diva is always clean. Take a shower at least once a day and use a good antiperspirant to keep sweat at bay. If you are like me and you sweat a lot then you may need a strong, clinical strength antiperspirant but do what you need to keep yourself clean.

Wear simple makeup.
A real diva can be glamorous with a bare face but let's face it we all need a little help every now and then. Pick one feature that you can accentuate and keep the rest of your makeup simple and minimal. My focus has always been lips as I love lip gloss but for 2013 I will be trying out eyes. A simple tip is to keep a tube of mascara or your favorite eye shadow in your purse so you can touch up during the day if you need to.

If you follow those simple tips every day you will increase your femininity easily and you will not only look and smell better but you will also feel better and will attract more people to be around you.

How To Dress To Ring In The New Year: 2013

Hello Divas!!!

Monday marks the last big party of the year as it is also the last day of the year. Every diva I know will be at a New Year's party somewhere and we all need to look our best.

You already got a few tips on what to do with your nails to ring in the new year and we all know to wear something gold but what else will you wear to go all those fancy parties?

First off you need to know what the dress code is. If you go to a casual party and you are a little overdressed it is better than going to a formal party and you are under dressed. In any case they are both bad so you need to know which kind you will be attending before you make a dress purchase.

If you are going to a formal party you may want something like this dress above where you look classy and formal but still not too stiff and stuffy.

If you go sleeveless, depending on your area you may need a shawl or cover up as you walk from your car to the venue.

If you are going to a casual party then a short gold dress like this one may be totally appropriate for your event. You can always throw on some stockings to keep the cold off your legs if you are in a cold area.

Keep your makeup simple and remember to accentuate EITHER your eyes OR your lips but never both. Keep one feature dramatic and one subdued so that you do not look like a crazy made up doll.

Gold eyeliner is always a great choice because it is simple to apply and does not require all the technique that mixing colors does.

I think you can mix it up by wearing a pop of red as your shoes and you all know how much I love wedges so I think a pair like these will be an excellent choice!

As for me...I have already set my outfit. I will be wearing the following:
-black mini skirt
-gold and black tunic blouse
-black stockings (because it is freezing where I live)
-black calf high boots

I have not decided on makeup as yet except I know I will be rocking a red lip!!!!!!

Have a great party night divas and get ready to rock out 2013.

Dressing Up Or Dressing Down On College Campus

Hello Divas!!

I just wanted to ask you a question. Do you think that as a graduate student you should dress up or dress down.

I have been looking around my campus and notice that people's dress styles run the gamut from very dressed up to woefully under dressed. I have seen students in full on suits next to students in running shorts and flip flops.

I have seen students in creased pants and students in ripped jeans.

I have seen some elaborate hairstyles and seen some girls who look like they have not combed their hair for week.

I am currently a graduate student and I teach twice a week. I love being as comfortable as possible and practically live in jeans.

I do dress up a little more when I teach so I can differentiate myself from my students but I noticed that many of the other graduate teaching students do not do so.

I don't over do it but I do wear dress pants and a pretty blouse when teaching. When I am not teaching I can be found in jeans and a more casual top...sometimes even a tee shirt.  I have decided that I will NOT be wearing tee shirts on my non teaching days because I still walk around campus and can be seen by my students.

I need to invest in a few more casual tops that can dress up jeans but still be VERY comfortable.

So do you think that graduate students..or college students need to dress up or not?

Product Review: Tree Hut Brazilian Nut Body Butter

Hello Divas!!

It is time again to review a product that I have personally used. The product for today is Tree Hut Brazilian Nut Body Butter.

Try saying that three times fast!!

You ladies know that I love smelling delicious and my favorite range of scents are in the family of warm, vanilla and sweet.

I got a chance to use this body butter and it is available from a number of retailers..including your local friendly Walmart and at a great price too.

When I opened the container the first thing I noticed was the yummy aroma. It really did have a vanilla-y nutty scent which was not overpowering but did make me want to eat out of the jar.

This is a body butter and not a lotion or a cream so it really was quite thicker than I expected. The one thing I must say is that your skin needs to be a little bit more damp in order for this butter to spread evenly onto the skin.

I usually wipe myself pretty dry after a shower before putting on lotion but that will not work in this case. If you try to apply this to dry skin you will be left with a sticky white residue and you will need to rub a LOT to get it in.

If your skin is more damp then it glides on easily like a lotion.

The butter moisturizes the skin, just not as much as I have found with my Aveeno lotion. I will keep it in use but since it is so thick I might not use it during the summer.

It smells great, is low priced and moisturizes well so you might give it a try!!!

21 Days Of Beauty Habits: Great Skin

Hello Divas!!

They say it takes 21 days of doing something for it to become a habit. I have decided that I will be starting a beauty ritual that I would like to become a habit and I will do it for the next 21 days straight until it becomes second nature to me.

I have a bad habit (and you know you do too) of sometimes skipping washing my face when I go to bed. Even if I take a shower at night I will just let the plain water run over my face and not even use a cleanser.

This is really bad for your skin because you know that even one swipe of make up remover does not remove all the makeup...so why would plain water do any good.

So for the next 21 days I will be following my routine of what I do when I actually do cleanse my face at night.

1. Wash my face.
I normally wash my face with these Aveeno cleansing pads because I think they are great at cleaning. They are gentle on the skin but also have a slightly rougher side that exfoliates as you clean.

The pads contain soy which is great for getting a more even skin tone when used and they smell great and do not cause irritation, even on my sensitive skin.

2. Tone my face.

I use Clean and Clear sensitive skin astringent to take off the last bit of dirt and grime and dead skin that the cleanser missed. You would be surprised at some of the stuff that comes off on a cotton pad when you use an astringent after washing.

3. Moisturize my face.
After the cleaning and toning the next step for me is to moisturize my face. I use Clean and Clear sensitive moisturizer with salicylic acid. I know this line is generally for teens and the younger generation but it has worked well for me now that I am over 30 and since my skin is so sensitive I tend to stick with what works.

In order to maximize the moisturizing effects I rinse my face off after I apply the astringent so that I can wash off the lingering alcohol. I also leave my face a little bit damp when I apply the moisturizer so that it can seal in some water.

Some people think that this dilutes the moisturizer and reduces the effectiveness but I prefer to do it that way. I just apply a slightly thicker layer of moisturizer than the instructions call for.

So anyway...the goal is to do this every night for the next 21 nights and hopefully it will become a habit so that I do not have to think about it. I always wake up with great skin the next day after doing this simple routine so it should be even better if I go at it for three weeks.

Add A Little Holiday Sparkle To Your Look: Gold

Hello Divas!!

The Christmas season is right around the corner and it gives the excuse to pile on the sparkle from your clothes, to your accessories to your makeup.

You don't have to look like a disco ball but you can add in a bit of sparkle and shimmer by just using one tip from the list below.

Metallic Sweater.
You can slip on one of these with a pair of black slacks to draw some attention to your face. The gold gives off a pretty shimmer on your face and makes you look better under all kinds of light.

Gold Wedges.
You ladies know how much I love my wedges!!!
These are classy enough to wear to a party or even dinner but they are OH so comfortable it feels like you are in flip flops or sneakers so your feet won't be killing you at the end of the day.

Gold manicure.

I could not resist posting more than one of these...I love the take on the candy cane in gold and white because it is refreshing!

On the other hand...no pun intended these gold and red nails are VERY festive add that extra punch to any outfit.
Get your sparkle on this Christmas 2012 and remember to wear a touch of gold to ring in prosperity in the new year.

My Favorite Moisturizer: Olay Regenerist Serum

Hello Divas!!!

The winter weather has set in and with it comes some quirky dryness associated with the heaters and all the dry air around.

While many beauty bloggers will tell you to upgrade to a thicker moisturizer for your face I think you can simply use this very light serum to keep your skin moist and dewy.

I absolutely love this light serum that you can wear under your makeup, under moisturizer or even just alone with nothing else over it. It dries to a slightly powdery consistency in my mind..which means you are not left shiny or greasy, but you do not have a white powdery look to your skin.

A little bit goes a LONG way so why not give it a try today?

False Eyelashes Made Easy

Hello Divas!!!

I know that some of you just LOVE your false eyelashes and cannot imagine leaving the house without them.

For the rest of us...falsies are a bit scary as the application with the glue is not very easy. To the rescue: Kiss Eyelashes with Applicator Strings.

Yes I know it sounds a bit strange ......and may bring up memories of tampons and their associated strings but I assure you this has nothing to do with that.

The eyelash strips come with handy applicator strings that help even the most challenged make up wearer to guide the lashes for a better fit.

All you do is apply the adhesive to the lash (you can't get away from that glue) and wait until the glue becomes tacky.

This usually takes about 1 minute so you can practice aligning your lash strips in the mean time. Then you hold on to the strings and gently place the strip along your lash line starting from the OUTER edge of the eye.

You work your way in and then tap the lash strip down in place. Once the lashes have fully dried you just tug on the strings and they pop right off!!!!

Pumpkin + Milk+ Honey = Great Skin

Hello Divas!!!

What can you do with all those leftover pumpkins and all that canned pumpkin? Well you may not know it but pumpkin is GREAT for your skin.

Mix the following:
1 tbs pumpkin (mashed)
1 tsp honey
0.5 tsp milk

mix well and apply to your clean face. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse of with warm water. Honey is a great humectant and will plump and moisturize the skin.

The vitamins in the pumpkin will also help to exfoliate your skin in a gentle, non abrasive way and all around make your skin look even better.

Coconut Oil For Great Hair

Hello Divas!!!!

I have recently added a new item to my hair care line and it is none other than Coconut Oil. I actually grew up using coconut oil to do my deep conditioning and it worked really well.

I missed out on it a few years and now that my hair is so dry I have decided to give my hair some new help.

I ordered Nature's Way EfaGold Coconut Oil because I read some great reviews on it.
Nature's Way EfaGold Coconut Oil, Pure Extra Virgin This coconut oil is Organic which means it is one of the purest forms you can get. It came in a liquid state but once I opened the container it solidified after about a day in room temperature conditions. The good thing about coconut oil is that it quickly liquifies once it touches your skin, even though it is solid at room temperature.

It is really great for my hair after only two days of use and while it appears shiny in the container it is not at all greasy or heavy on my hair.

Some people also use it for their skin but for now I am just trying it out on my hair to see if I can return some vital nutrients and make my hair soft and shiny.

Britney's Short Dress With Fanned Sleeves...Love or Hate?

Hello Divas!!!

One of our fave divas has been spotted wearing a new look. Ms Britney Spears recently donned this short dress with fanned sleeves and I wanted to know if you love the look or hate it?

Britney Spears attends "We Will Always Love You: A GRAMMY Salute to Whitney Houston" at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on October 11, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. Personally I think the dress could be a little better. It has the potential to be a lovely dress but in this case it is a little too tight around the hips.

The photo was also taken at a weird angle because the sleeves look quite odd on Ms Spears. I like the dress in general....although she could have used a different bra coz her boobs look funny here...

To sum it up...I LOVE it....love Britney and I am glad she is at a healthy looking size!!!

Get A Faux Bob

Hello Divas!!!

If you are like most of the girls with long hair who are afraid to cut off their locks..but still want the comfort and coolness of a short style you are in luck.

You can fake a bob with a few hair pins and some clever use of tucking and pinning.

Just sweep the long part of the hair up and under at the nape and secure with pins. Add in a sparkly bow or barrette and presto you have a faux bob.

All the comfort of a bob with the security of knowing that you can still go back long the next day.

The Weather Is Changing...And So Are Wardrobes

Hello Divas!!!

The weather in these parts is starting to change and taking a turn for the cooler temperatures. As a result our clothing choices are starting to change as well.

I am looking forward to the cooler but not quite winter temperatures so that I can add in some more layering for a better look.

Are you updating your wardrobe already or are you waiting until the weather REALLY changes?

Great Oxfords At Payless

Hello Divas!!!!

If you are looking for a great new pair of shoes for work.....or just a cool pair to make your style a bit more preppy..check out these oxfords from Payless.

Yes that's right ..you can get these fabulous diva shoes at Payless for just under $30 bucks. I just got myself a pair and they are the most comfortable work shoes EVER.

I walked for about 4 hours in them on the first wearing and did not feel uncomfortable at all. These shoes offer the right amount of softness and structure to ensure a good fit. They are not too structured so that they feel hard or uncomfortable but they are not too soft and lacking in support.

They look divine with long pants and I am going to try them out with a skirt to change things up a little bit next time.

Get Fitted For A Bra

Hello Divas!!!

I recently went to get fitted for a bra because of my weight changes. I found out I was using the wrong bra in both band size and in cup size.

I could not believe the results that I got since they seemed to indicate that my bosom was larger than I thought.

I did  the first fitting at Dillards and then decided to go to Victoria's Secret later on in the day. I got the same results from both places so I guess they are on the right track.

You may be wearing the wrong size bra if any of the following apply:
  • The  band rides up in the back
  • The straps fall off your shoulders
  • The cups gape
  • The center of the front of the bra does not lie flat against your sternum

A good fitting specialist will be able to look at the bra you are currently wearing and tell you which of the problems apply to it if you are wearing the wrong bra.

In any case I am advising you  to and get fitted for a bra to make sure that you are wearing the correct band size and cup size for your breasts.

All you have to do is to to one of the following stores:
  • Victoria's Secret
  • Dillards
and ask for a bra fitting specialist. They will take you into the fitting room and measure you and then have you try on a variety of bras in the cup size and band size that they make you out to be.

The fitting is free and they recommend that you come in for one at least once a year or any time your weight changes.

Eos Lip Balm (Product Review)

Hello Divas!!

A diva is always known by having soft, smooth lips and a great way to keep your lips in top shape is to have a great lip balm.

Now I have very sensitive skin and not every lip product agrees with me. I cannot use Chapstik brand lip balms because they cause my lips to swell up and peel. I have tried a few other balms with varying degrees of success until I found my one true savior in Pucker Ups lip balm.

I decided to try out Eos lip balms because I have heard a few good things about them and since they claim to be natural I really liked that.

I ordered the sweet mint flavor pictured above and I already like it in the first five minutes of using the product. The container is cute although it is a bit large for my taste. My other regular lip balm could fit easily in my pocket or in a tiny purse without creating a bulge.

This round shaped applicator does create a bulge in my tiny purse and it looks outright ridiculous in my pocket so I will not be keeping it in there.

According to Ulta the list of ingredients seem to be as close to natural as I have seen on any packaging. Here is the list of ingredients that can be found in the lip balm.

Sweet Mint: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire Dabeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Limonene1, Linalool1. 1Component of Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*.

I threw my wrapper away before I decided to write this review so I cannot verify the actual list..but that looks about correct.

I love the fact that so many of the ingredients are simple oils like coconut and olive oil which we already know to be moisturizing from using them on our hair.

The balm has a light pleasant scent and the mint is really cooling on the lips without being overbearing. It goes on light and does not feel waxy like some other balms...I just need a few more days to see how it compares to my favorite.

Cute Panties Make My Day

Hello Divas!!!!

Time to talk today about something that we all love and use every day. Well at least I hope you use them every day because otherwise you will be inviting problems like yeast infections and chafing.

I am talking about Panties!!!

Panties!!!! Specifically CUTE panties and not just the ordinary granny panties that you just wear to feel comfortable.

I love panties that are cute but also comfortable and I think I found the best combination of that in hipsters and boyshorts.

Are Sulfate Free Shampoos Good For You?

Hello Divas!!!

I have been hearing a LOT recently about how sulfate free shampoos and conditioners are better for you. If you look at your list of ingredients in MOST shampoos you will see this ingredient listed:

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.

This is the main thing that causes your shampoo to foam up and create those wonderful suds that we all assume are vital to clean your hair.

The thing is that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is actually a harsh salt and it strips your hair. This is probably the reason why you notice your hair is so rough after using shampoo alone and you therefore need to use conditioner.

The newest talk is that you do not need to use SLS on your hair to get it clean and you can use Sulfate Free shampoos and conditioners instead. These have an ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate instead, which is supposed to be better for your hair and skin as it is milder.

You can read up all about the chemical breakdown of the two different ingredients elsewhere but in short Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is much gentler on your hair and skin.

I started using L'Oreal Sulfate Free shampoo and I hope that it is truly better for my hair. I did notice after one use that my hair did not feel as rough as with other shampoos, but one use is not enough to make a really good decision.

Decorating On A Student Budget: Bedding

Hello Divas!

I am back to being a full time student and I am moving to a new place. It comes partially furnished so this time around I am glad I do not have to spend money on furniture.

I will need a few accessories to spruce up the place as well as make myself comfortable so I thought I should start with my bedding.

I decided to go ahead and actively choose an easy-to-work-with color scheme of shades of grey.

I picked grey because it is less drastic than black and white which would be very stark. I also just really love grey and I am sure that the grey tones will have some black and white woven in.

I know that most people would actually pick black and white for the dramatic effect but I also want my bedding to be soothing and I think that the contrast with black and white would just be too much for me.

I am going to accent the plain colors with a pop of pink because I use satin pillowcases and they just happened to come in pink.

I thought of using this zebra pattern but felt it was a little too Jersey Shore and I also think that the plain stripes would not go out of style.

Zebra Print Complete Bed in a Bag Maybe as I move forward I may go with the zebra print but for now I will be sticking to the softer play with the grey tones.

This bedding set costs less than $50 at Walmart so it is really good for those on a budget and it provides reasonably good quality for the price.

With this bed in a bag set you get all of the following items for any size that you choose:
-comforter
-bed skirt
-fitted sheet
-flat sheet
-2 pillow cases
-2 shams

except in the case of the twin bed where you only get one pillow case and one sham.

NYC 16 Hr Smooch Proof Lip Stain: Review

Hello Divas!!!

It is time again to review a beauty product and the one I have chosen this time is the NYC 16 Hr smooch proof lip stain.

I bought this in the Forever Fuschia because it looked like a cool color that would work for me. I did not read the name but went with the color I could see through the cap and it actually turned out pretty good.

I have not used this a true stain in the sense that you are supposed to apply it to bare lips first to get the desired effect. I actually applied over my lip balm and got a creamy but shiny effect. I let it dry a bit and then applied more lip balm over the stain and ended up with a really nice look.

It does wear off after about 4 hours because of the creamy base of the lip balm so you do have to reapply if you use this method.

I will try it on bare lips some time in the future to see if I can get some longer wear out of it but I just feel better about using it over a lip balm because lip stains tend to be very drying!!!!

What To Wear This Summer: Wedges

Hello Divas!!

Summer is officially here and it is time to break out all those fresh, cool clothes and show off your hot style.

I think one of the hottest styles for the summer is the wedge shoe.

I did not like shoes very much....strange for a diva I know.  Now I am just totally in love with shoes, especially wedges. I am not a fan of high heels but when you wear wedges you can have a high platform but still be comfortable to run in them.

I saw these at Target and I am DYING to get my hands on a pair this summer:

The person who invented high heels is a torturer but the person who invented wedges is a GENIUS.

Fashion On A Grad School Budget

Hello Divas!!!

I will be going back to grad school this fall and I will be starting off BROKE and then living the life of a broke graduate student.

I am not sure what the dress code is on my campus especially for my department, which is in business. I know that business students tend to be a little more dressy than other departments.....but then again I am thinking that it is grad school and they expect us to be poor.

While I do not dress in pajamas or torn jeans like some people, I certainly do not want to wear flip flops to class when everyone else is all dressed up.

I will soon have a post on basic fashion while on a grad school budget, just as soon as I see the general dress code for my department and my classes!!!!

Why No Makeup Posts?

Hello Divas!!

Some of you have been asking why I do not do any posts about makeup when this is a fashion and beauty blog.

The reason I do not do those posts is simple.

I don't wear makeup!!!!!

Gasp...yes I know I call myself a diva in training, and I have a site about beauty and fashion..but I don't wear makeup.

I do wear nail polish and lip gloss and once in a while I wear some mascara. Other than that I don't do the
-foundation
-primer
-blush
-bronzer etc routine.

I have been blessed with fabulous skin (from all the compliments I get....not being vain) and I just decided that I like my look with only lip gloss.

It is just easier for me to put on some lip gloss and occasional mascara and be perfectly fine with the way I look. I know that makeup enhances what you already have and makes your look pop.

I have been told on the few occasions (weddings, graduation etc) that I do wear makeup that I look SO much better. I still just do mascara and lip gloss for my everyday look and it takes me less than a minute to do my face.

It also saves me from looking totally weird when I don't have time to 'put on a face' because people are accustomed to seeing me with just lip gloss!!!!

I admire those who take the time to put on their makeup every day but I do think makeup is individual and we each do what works for OUR separate case!!!

3 Tips To Great Skin

Hello Divas!!

One of the ways to recognize a REAL Diva is by her skin. We don't need to spend TONS of money or even lots of hours....but doing a little bit every day will help you get and maintain the flawless skin that we are known for.

Shun the sun.
Yes it is great to have golden glow if you are lighter skinned but bear in mind that the sun can have some harmful rays. Too much exposure can lead to uneven skin and even worse...cancer.

Use a bronzer to get that beautiful color if you want it. If you are darker skinned PLEASE wear sunscreen.

Many of our darker skinned ladies believe they will not get sun damage but this is false. While the melatonin does give you more protection than the pale skins, it is NOT 100%

Exfoliate.
I cannot stress enough the importance of exfoliating. Your skin naturally sheds but you can help it out and reveal the younger looking skin below.

You do not have to strip your skin, just use a mild loofah in the shower and you will be well on your way.

Moisturize.
Dry, cracked skin is NOT cute. Your skin will be prepped to absorb the moisture after a session of exfoliating so go ahead and use that rich lotion and get your skin glowing!!!

June 22 Is No Panty Day

I have been seeing this trending all over facebook and twitter recently. It says that June 22 is No Panty day....after the funny trend of No Pants Day.

I have seen some people say that it is a joke and not a real thing like No Pants Day.

Either way I was a bit disturbed by this and wondered if any of you divas will be taking part in this event.

Would you go the whole day without wearing any panties?

I know that I certainly will not be doing this as it just feels weird to me. I always wear panties even if I am wearing pants or a skirt. I like the feeling of knowing my underwear is there in case something happens to my clothes.

Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be to fall and have nothing to cover up your lady bits?

I think it might also be a little bit uncomfortable to have a thick material like your jeans rubbing up against your delicate bits without a protective layer of underwear.

In any case enjoy the day whether you wear your panties or not.

Intererested In A Juice Fast

So I have been reading about doing 3 and 7 day juice fasts and my best friend actually bought a juicer and did a 7 day juice fast.

I have been interested in doing a fast but my blood sugar drops really quickly. I am one of those people who constantly eats because if I don't eat about every three hours I get headaches.

I get VERY cranky...I get hungry and angry....or HANGRY as we like to call it.

I am trying to work myself up to do a three day juice fast but so far it has been rough. I have attempted one day a week for the last three weeks and barely made it into the afternoon before eating.

Today this was my breakfast:
-banana
-tea with milk

total of 245 calories.

This was my lunch:
-grapefruit juice...90 calories

In between I have been drinking a  large glass of water about every hour so  that my stomach feels full.

If I can make it to dinner time and only drink more juice and water then today will be a success and I will know that I can do the three day fast.

I actually plan on doing it full time in July so this is just a practice run for me.

Have any of you done a juice fast? Share your experience and tips please!!!!!

Diva Nail Tools

Hello Divas!!!

I know that we all try to take care of our nails and I just found a very pretty and girly nail set I wanted to share with you.

It cost under $4 at Walmart and I must say it a good deal.

I bought the set because I wanted the cuticle stick with the soft edge. I do not like the wooden ones because they tend to be jagged. I don't want to get splinters and I don't understand why they continue to make these wooden ones.

It also helps that most of the stuff has a lovely diva pink on it so it will go quite nicely in my collection of beauty tools.
